100s of games at your fingertips, as long as your fingertips are on an Apple ][
Download Total Replay (version 4.01, released 2021-02-18, 32 MB disk image)
Total Replay is a frontend for exploring and playing classic arcade games on an 8-bit Apple ][. Some notable features:
- UI for searching and browsing all games
- Screensaver mode includes hundreds of screenshots and dozens of self-running demos
- In-game protections removed (manual lookups, code wheels, &c.)
- Integrated game help
- Cheat mode available on most games
- Super hi-res box art (requires IIgs)
- All games run directly from ProDOS (no swapping floppies!)
Total Replay runs on any Apple ][ with 64K RAM and Applesoft in ROM. Some games require 128K. Some games require a joystick. Total Replay will automatically filter out games that do not work on your machine.
Additionally, you will need a mass storage device that can mount a 32 MB ProDOS hard drive image. This is supported by all major emulators; if you are lucky enough to have a real working Apple ][, you can mount it with a CFFA3000, Floppy Emu, MicroDrive, BOOTI, wDrive or similar adapter.

The keyboard search "buffer" can be cleared by pressing Esc.
Please direct future bug reports to GitHub. We will see them much more quickly, and we do investigate all reports!
Subject: Little Quirky on a Hardware IIGS
With the 4.0RC I do see some issues using a hardware IIgs vs this hdv in emulation. On the IIgs, there are quite a few games missing; they are skipped when you keyboard navigate between games using the arrow keys, and they do not show up when typing to search. I haven't had time to compile an exhaustive list, but Choplifter, Horizon V, and a few other classics never show up on my IIgs.
Also, the type to search often crashes; it seems to be running into a keyboard buffer of some kind. The first few letters I type are fine, but after a while any keypress results in a short beep/tone as if I have exceeded the keyboard buffer. I'm happy to volunteer as a tester for hardware IIgs validation at any time.

Subject: Exactly what I was looking for!
A few suggestions.
Display which games are joystick enabled as well as maybe even having a filter on Joystick only games. This way I can leave it on during a party without babysitting it.
Use the cracked version of Gorgon that allows for joystick support.
Ability to turn on and off games available to play for a party mode feature
I noticed a bug - If you have a micromodem II (I have a 300 baud) in slot 3, Lady Tut initializes a nasty tone through the internal modem speaker both when playing the game or if it comes up in attract mode
At any rate, you have my complete thanks for this. I needed this so so so so so badly. - almost as much as I need a thesaurus to describe how badly I needed this.
